Kolej MASA was established on 22 August 2008. Although a new college, the visions and experiences of the stakeholders are not new. The vast experiences of the directors coupled with a strong belief in making a difference for the young minds speared them into setting up Kolej MASA.

Students who come to Kolej MASA can choose to do a certificate course or a diploma course with pathways established to pursue further to do their first degree. Courses include Diploma in Secretaryship, diploma in hospitality, diploma in Information Technology, diploma in Corporate Administration and Certificate in Corporate Administration. Additionally, students are given a strong grounding on English Language skills both spoken as well as written, through Kolej MASA’s specially designed English language intensive classes.

Job Interview Tips




• Do not smoke, chew gum, or eat garlic beforehand.

• Wear suitable interview clothes.

• Take copies of your CV with you.

• Arrive on time for your job interview.

• Any applications handed before the interview begins, are to be filled in as accurately as possible, make sure they match the information in your Cv and Cover Letter.

• Always greet the interviewer by his/her last name and try to pronounce it correctly.

• Have a good firm handshake.

• Look alert and interested. Scan the room once and then keep your eyes on the interviewer.

• Wait until you are offered a chair before you sit down.

• Stress your achievements.

• Always conduct yourself professionally and if something beyond your control occurs, show a sense of humor.

• Be enthusiastic and show it in your replies and body language.

• Answer the interview question by more than a simple yes or no but try not to go over the 60 second limit.

• Avoid at all cost complaining about your current or former employer in your job interview.

• Do not answer questions about politics or religion if the job is completely unrelated.

• Do not raise salary discussions on your first interview - this is usually done on the second interview. Make sure you do your wage research before hand.

How to Find a Job

1.Network
Think of all the people you know -- relatives, friends, teachers, classmates, old co-workers, and others.

2.Targeted job search and Resume
Make sure your resume is targeted to the employers who are receiving it.

3.Be prepared
You should always have a copy of your resume on you at all times! You never know who you are going to run into while you're out.

4.Create a contact database
Write down all the employers that you contact along with the ones that contacted you.

5.Learn how to talk about yourself
I know for some of you this is a hard concept, but you have to get comfortable with it, if you are going to land a job.

6.Prepare a speech
You never know who you'll meet in an elevator, in line at the coffee shop, or on the street.

7.Find out all there is about the employers in your field
This means research!Try to remain current on all the issues or developments in your field, read trade journals, professional publications, or the newspaper.

8.Follow-up with leads immediately
I cannot stress this enough. If you find out about a position late in the day, call right then. Don't wait until the next day.
