The ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity (ACB) is a newly established intergovernmental organization aiming to become a center for coordinating the regional effort towards sustainable management of biodiversity resources in the ASEAN region. Maximizing the long-standing partnership between and among the ASEAN Member Countries (AMCs), countries outside the region and other stakeholders on biodiversity issues and initiatives, the ACB endeavors to become a major institution that will strategically advance the biodiversity conservation and management agenda in the region. Lending critical support to the operations of ACB are the European Union (EU) and the ASEAN Member Countries.

Responsibilities

Under the authority of the Governing Board and directly supervised by the Executive Director, the Director for NPRM shall be responsible for the following:

(1) Develop a networking programme and foster partnerships with appropriate regional and international institutions in the private and public sectors which can be potential partners, funders and supporters of ACB’s programmes and projects, with the end view of leveraging and mobilizing resources for the sustainable operations of the Centre;
(2) Set up the operational and policy framework for resource mobilization (RM) and partnerships as well as develop and implement RM and partnership building plans, strategies, policies and tools.
(3) Take the lead in ACB’s fundraising efforts to raise funds for its operations and endowment fund (ASEAN Biodiversity Fund) to ensure the sustainable financing mechanism of the Centre; and
(4) Direct and oversee the management of the NPRM Unit of the ACB by ensuring that substantive work program and operational activities are carried out in a timely fashion and coordinated with appropriate units of the ACB while maintaining high-quality standard of outputs.

Competency

The applicant should have a strong sense of responsibility; have a demonstrated ability to plan strategies and prioritize activities; have strong analytical skills and timely decision making capability, practicing results-oriented approach to delivering outputs; possesses a leadership and management style that is inclusive, participatory and collaborative; fosters team work; have mentoring qualities that can motivate peers and colleagues to achieve the goals of the organization. Familiarity with and appreciation of biodiversity conservation and environmental issues is a major consideration. As the Centre has a multicultural environment, the candidate should have the ability to adjust to the varying cultures of ASEAN and incorporate social sensitivities and gender perspectives in his/her working ethos. Qualifications

Nationality – prospective candidates must be a national of any ASEAN Country,
Education – Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Management, Business Administration, Marketing and Finance or related fields.
Work Experience – At least 10 years of relevant and progressively responsible experience in forging partnerships and mobilizing resources for programmes and projects; have established networks and relations with potential ACB partners and funders; have proven track record in negotiations, fundraising and interaction with donor preferably for environmental causes and institutions; have demonstrated experience in implementing innovative ways for financing especially with private institutions. Proof of fundraising accomplishments is an advantage.
Language – English is the working language of the Centre. For this post, fluency in written and spoken English is required. Working knowledge of other languages used in ASEAN countries is an advantage.
Others – Proficiency in computer applications used in communication and project management as well as the use of the internet.

    Job Description:
    • General administrative and filing duties

    • Responsible for the pantry, stationery and other consumable items

    • Attending to office correspondences

    • Updating company database and online job postings

    • Planing and executing office activities

    • Updating the office bulletin board and other notices and announcements


    Requirements:
    • Minimum Diploma/Certificate

    • Good command of both written and spoken English

    • Organised, energetic, disciplined and proactive person with a pleasant personality is required

    • PC literate and good with Microsoft Office

    • Team player and able to handle responsibilities independently.

    • 1 year exprience is preferable but if not, training and guidance will be provided to the right candidate.
